Boost Your Motivation

Finding motivation to exercise can be challenging, but by implementing a range of strategies and finding what works best for you, you can increase your motivation and enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle!

Here are some strategies that may help make exercise part of your regular routine.

  • Set Clear Goals: Create SMART goals for exercise! Whether it is running a certain distance or fitting into a particular clothing size, having a clear goal can help give you something to work towards. 

  • Find An Activity You Enjoy: Exercise does not mean the traditional running or weight lifting workouts. Experiment with different types of exercise and find out what you enjoy!

  • Create A Schedule: Having a plan and treating your workouts like important appointments can help establish a habit and make it easier to stick to your fitness goals.

  • Start Small: If you're struggling to find motivation, start with small, manageable bouts of  exercise. For example, commit to a 5-minute walk each day and gradually increase the duration.

  • Find A Friend: Exercising with a friend or family member can make workouts more enjoyable and provide you with support and accountability.

  • Focus On The Benefits: Remind yourself of the benefits of exercise. Keeping these benefits in mind can help you stay motivated during challenging times.

  • Track your progress: Keep track of your workouts, progress, and achievements. Seeing how far you've come can be incredibly motivating and inspire you to keep going!

  • Mix It Up: Prevent boredom or burnout by incorporating variety into your workouts. Try different exercises, classes, or outdoor activities to keep things interesting.

  • Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself and acknowledge that motivation levels may fluctuate. If you miss a workout or don't meet your goals, don't be too hard on yourself. Focus on the progress you've made and recommit to your journey
